Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness and swelling around the injection points, these typically subside within 24-72 hours.
Below is the recommended aftercare:
For the first 4-24 hours: Avoid wearing make up and any skincare, do not undertake any strenuous physical activity or sports. Also very important to avoid touching the injected area (especially massaging or manipulating) to avoid the risk of infection. It’s also advisable to avoid any excessive alcohol use for a day after your treatment.
For the first 24- 48 hours: Avoid exposing the skin to saunas, steam rooms, UV rays/sunbeds. Also it is advised to not use stronger skincare products including retinol for at least 24 hours. Also you can use cold compresses (ice pack we will be able to give you at your appointment) to reduce swelling and arnica tablets/cream are great for bruising too (if needed).
In very rare cases, vascular occlusion could occur, and it is very important that you notify us of any of the following symptoms as soon as possible. We will talk through what to look out for at your appointment and rest assured it is easily treated with Hyaluronidase, but catching the blockage as early as possible is crucial:
Extreme pain or numbness in or around your injected area
Lack of colour in or around your injected area
No capillary refill in or around your injected area
Pustules or darkened skin in or around your injected area
We are fully complications and first aid trained, so you are in safe hands with us, and here to chat anytime!

DERMAL FILLER
ANTI-WRINKLE
Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness and lumps at the injection points, these typically subside within 24 hours.
Described as ‘the perfect lunchtime treatment’, you can continue your daily activities after your anti-wrinkle treatment, however, below is the recommended aftercare:
For the first 4-24 hours: Avoid wearing make up and any skincare, do not lay/sleep flat or undertake any strenuous physical activity or sports. Also very important to avoid touching the injected area to avoid the risk of infection. You may experience a light headache or flu-like symptoms also within this time frame, which is normal, but always reach out if concerned.
For the first 24- 48 hours: Avoid exposing the skin to saunas, steam rooms, UV rays/sunbeds.
Days 4-11: The product starts to work.
Day 14 – Optimal results: If the signal has been blocked then no need for a top up as the product will just sit on top of the existing product and breaks down at the same time.
Gradually your muscles will regain function and start to return to their former appearance around 3-4 months after treatment, so we would recommend coming back to visit us for your treatment when you start to notice this.
Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness, lumps at the injection points, these typically subside within 24 hours and will leave you with a more hydrated appearance as the hyaluronic acid gets to work straight away.
Below is the recommended aftercare:
For the first 4-24 hours: Avoid wearing make up and any skincare, do not undertake any strenuous physical activity or sports. Also very important to avoid touching the injected area (especially massaging or manipulating) to avoid the risk of infection. Also please do not lay/sleep flat where possible. Bruising is the most common complication of treatment. You can reduce bruising by applying ice; it is ok to cover up bruising with concealer/makeup the next day.
For the first 24- 48 hours: Avoid exposing the skin to saunas, steam rooms, UV rays/sunbeds. Also it is advised to not use stronger skincare products including retinol for at least 24 hours.
There are no known side effects of our skin stocked skin boosters. They are very safe procedures as the products are formulated with 100% hyaluronic acid and no added chemicals. If the area injected become white and/or very painful following your treatment, then please do get in touch, even if it is for reassurance as we are always here to help! Fortunately, this would be extremely rare to happen (1 in 1 million). Otherwise, it is expected to have a very mild irritation to the injected skin lasting a few hours when the numbness wears off.
The real results will start to show until you are at the 6–8-week mark as this is the time that it takes for the body to start producing collagen and elastin which is what really makes the difference in terms of results and what you see on the surface.
Your initial treatment is administered in two sessions, with the second session being four weeks later. After this, we recommend further sessions for maintenance and enhanced results, every 3-6 months (depending on your skins elasticity and this can be discussed with your practitioner when creating your treatment plan).
SKIN BOOSTERS
Overall, Aqualyx recovery is straightforward, with many patients heading back to their daily activities. In the UK, Aqualyx has been CE approved which means that it meets the required safety standards for use. Treatments have been used in 50 countries across the globe and over 2 million procedures have been successfully carried out.
A key factor in your aftercare to note is to keep hydrated and always aim to drink 2L of water per day
After your treatment, there will be some swelling. It’s normal for the swelling to increase in the first 24 to 48 hours. Typically, the swelling goes down over the following week and, in very rare cases, can persist longer than a week. The swollen area may look a little uneven and feel uncomfortable in the beginning.
For the first 4 hours- Avoid touching the area until any swelling has resolved. Swelling, discomfort, redness and sensitivity in the treated area is normal.
For the first 24 Hours- Avoid alcohol or using blood thinners such as Ibuprofen/Ginkgo Biloba/St John’s Wort for 24 hours after treatment. If you do require pain relief, please opt for paracetamol and avoid any-inflammatory medications like Aspirin and Ibuprofen (where safe to)
For approx. 5-7 days- Avoid exercise, sun exposure, saunas and sunbeds or anything else that increases the blood circulation in the area for five days. Eating a low calorie, healthy diet helps to increase the treatment’s effectiveness. This can help you to benefit in the long term.
The number of Aqualyx treatments required varies depending on the size of the fatty deposit being treated. Generally, 1-3 treatments are needed for small areas such as the chin and 2-6 sessions for larger areas such as the thighs. Repeat sessions should be spaced out at four to six weekly intervals and clients should expect results to appear approximately three to six weeks after the initial treatment. We would like to see you again in a month to 6 weeks to review the treatment and to plan additional treatments when needed. We also offer some great value packages if you are wanting to book a course.
AQUALYX®
Here at A Little More You Aesthetics® we are trained in both elective and emergency filler dissolving.
An elective filler dissolve in an option where you can choose to have any existing filler dissolved to either remove the filler permanently from your face or if you would like to dissolve and refill.
In rare cases, filler injected can cause a compromise to the veins or arteries can be blocked, so hyaluronidase can also be used to counteract any vascular occlusions that were to arise post treatment.
Dissolving lip filler is a safe procedure and comes with little to no risk. It is possible you’ll experience swelling or light bruising at the injection site too. You might also experience some mild pain or discomfort as with any injectable treatment, but topical numbing cream will reduce this significantly.
Please note, due to the components within hyaluronidase, anyone who is allergic to bee/wasp stings, we will be unable to offer this treatment (or most likely filler as well as it is too much of a risk to undertake the treatment just in case of a rare occlusion). We will always perform the patch test before your treatment. By doing this, we know that the treatment is going to be safe for you. After having your treatment, if you experience any allergy symptoms like pain, itching or shortness of breath you will need to seek medical attention straight away.
Below is the recommended aftercare:
For the first 4-24 hours: Once the hyaluronidase is injected into the lips, the filler will start to break down immediately. There will be some redness and swelling in the treated area. It’s recommended to book your appointment either in the evening or on a day that you have no other plans. Avoid wearing make up and any skincare (especially facial scrubs), do not undertake any strenuous physical activity or sports. Also very important to avoid touching the injected area (especially massaging or manipulating) to avoid the risk of infection. Any swelling can be reduced by taking antihistamines (where safe to) and bruising can be reduced with Arnica cream/tablets.
After about 48 hours after treatment, you’ll notice a significant reduction in filler.
For 72 hours: You’ll need to avoid using any skincare which has active ingredients including Beta Hydroxy Acid, vitamin C, retinols, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids. After 48 to 84 hours, any swelling in this area should be gone.
If you have booked a dissolve and refill package with us, you will be required to wait a minimum of two weeks to allow the treated area to recover, and to ensure any swelling or trauma to your lips from the injections has subsided and healed. Also to ensure the hyaluronidase does not break down any of the new filler.
